I began my journey at LCMB in May 2023 after graduating from the University of Reading, having completed my Masters in Environmental Management. Starting a new job can be both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. However, the onboarding process and introductions into the office environment were smooth sailing, and I felt immediately welcomed and well-informed.

I began my role as a junior sustainability consultant and was proud to be a new member of the Net Zero Team. My colleagues, Innocent and Mike, included me in a variety of projects and gave me a sense of responsibility right from the start. I was deeply impressed by LCMB’s prestigious client repertoire, and the prospect of working on these projects was incredibly exciting.

One of the most crucial aspects of my initial experience was the training and skill development opportunities offered by LCMB. I had access to various resources, from online courses to firsthand site visits, which allowed me to hone my skills and stay abreast of low carbon strategies. I was given the opportunity to develop key skills in thermal imaging surveying through the iRed Remote Sensing ‘Thermal Imaging for Building Professionals’ course. Every day at LCMB has been an opportunity for continuous learning and growth.

Now, a few months into my journey at LCMB, I have learned so much about net zero and the business world surrounding it. I have been applying my new skills to develop comprehensive carbon footprints, conduct energy audits, and enhance my abilities in data management and analysis. I have participated in projects involving clients such as The Royal Academy of Arts, Karcher, Pinewood Studios, Birkbeck College London, Oxfordshire County Council, and many others. The opportunities at LCMB are outstanding.

I couldn’t be more proud and excited to be developing my career at LCMB. I have found a unique environment that fosters both personal and professional development in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
