John O’Brien, LCMB’s founder and MD is setting out to swim Lake Windermere, a distance of 21km in September of this year to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
One in three of us will suffer from cancer over our lifetime which means pretty much all of us will be impacted directly or indirectly.
Macmillan Cancer Support are there to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. They do great work supporting cancer sufferers and their families.
“Like many, over the last few years, I’ve seen and experienced the indiscriminate impact caused by cancer. I’m planning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support by swimming the length of Windermere in September. Whilst running 21km is a physical challenge, swimming 21km is both a physical and even bigger mental challenge, as the swim will take me between 7 and 12 hours depending on conditions on the day, a long time to be in the water face down!
I’m delighted to raise money for such a great charity with the generous help of others.” John
If you’ve been impacted by cancer, or have received the support of the Macmillan Cancer team and would like to help by sponsoring John’s swim.
John is personally covering the full cost of the event and support so all the money donated will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
