John was elected in recognition of his ‘expertise in the field of the built environment, particularly his focus on improving building whole life performance’.

Over the last six years, John and the team at LCMB have helped their clients improve the return on investment from their buildings by improving their utilisation, reducing their operational cost and energy use, saving many millions of pounds and tens of thousands of tonnes of CO2.

LCMB delivers creative ways of improving built asset performance based on their innovation programme.

The RSA exists to ‘enrich society through ideas and action’. It aims to create the conditions for the enlightened thinking and collaborative action needed to address today’s most pressing social challenges by nurturing networks of innovators, and through researching, testing and sharing practical interventions.

“I am honoured to have been elected a Fellow of the RSA. My team and I look forward to working with them over the coming years to continue to improve the quality and performance of the UK’s building stock”  John O’Brien
