Sam Brown joined LCMB this October as an NZC Consultant, bringing with her a wealth of experience and passion for environmental policy and sustainability. Sam holds multiple academic credentials including a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Policy, and an MA in Environment, Policy and Society with Distinction.
Prior to joining LCMB, Sam was a Manager in the Regulatory Policy Unit of the Queensland Department of Mines and Energy. In this role, she managed a team responsible for implementing a regulatory programme that required medium to large business energy users in Queensland to assess their baseline energy use and identify energy-saving opportunities. The programme also included a feed-in tariff for micro solar generation and a Renewable Energy Target for Electricity retailers in the state.
Sam has also delivered impactful projects while previously working as a consultant for LCMB, such as the ‘Too Good To Waste’ programme for Oxfordshire County Council. This project aimed at reducing food waste to landfill from the hospitality sector across Oxfordshire. Moreover, she has experience in vegetation management and resource efficiency from her time at the Waste Resource Action Programme (WRAP) in the UK.
