LCMB are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team, Kostan Banos, who has joined us as Senior Consultant – Decarbonisation. Originating from Sydney, Australia, Kostan’s journey to LCMB is a testament to his life ambition of contributing to world-leading sustainability projects alongside eminent colleagues. This November, he brings a rich tapestry of experience and expertise to our Banbury office.
With a decade of experience in environmental management and sustainability, Kostan’s expertise is a valuable asset to our team. His most notable work includes managing GreenPower, Australia’s voluntary renewable energy certification program. Under his leadership, households and businesses across Australia were able to purchase authentic renewable electricity, fostering new energy generation nationwide. Furthermore, Kostan pioneered Australia’s first voluntary renewable gas certification scheme.
Prior to joining LCMB, Kostan served as the Senior Environmental Management Officer at Cumberland Council in Sydney. In this role, he was instrumental in delivering key environmental programs focused on energy, water, urban heat, and biodiversity. His collaborative efforts with various departments led to significant advancements in building operational efficiencies and renewable energy integration. This impressive work culminated in winning the Keep Australia Beautiful (NSW) Sustainable Cities Award in 2019.
Kostan’s academic credentials are equally impressive. He holds a Master of Architectural Science in Sustainable Design and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Sydney, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Environmental Management from the University of New South Wales. His comprehensive educational background, coupled with his practical experience, makes him exceptionally well-suited for spearheading decarbonisation and net-zero strategies in the built environment sector.
Kostan, along with his wife, has now settled in Banbury, embracing a new chapter far from his Australian roots. He joins LCMB not just as a member of our team but as part of our community, ready to face the exciting and challenging times ahead with his world-leading peers.
