LCMB has joined Low Carbon Oxford, which is tackling the big issue of climate change in Oxfordshire.
Head of Carbon and Energy Reduction, Matt Whitehead, pictured, signed the charter in early September of this year. Of joining the local group Matt said,
“We first came across Low Carbon Oxford at the launch of the Too Good to Waste programme, http://www.toogood-towaste.co.uk/oxfordshire/, during Low Carbon Oxford Week in June of this year. This is a programme we are managing on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council to reduce the amount of food plate waste across Oxfordshire’s hotel, restaurant and leisure sectors.
Our business LCMB is focused on helping our clients use their buildings and built assets more productively to reduce operating costs, energy use and carbon emissions. In working with and getting to know the Low Carbon Oxford team we could see that their ambitions and plans for Oxford and Oxfordshire are compatible with our ambitions for our clients. Being an Oxfordshire based business we would like to contribute the lessons we have learnt working with clients such King’s College London, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Birmingham International Airport, to reduce their carbon emissions, to help fellow Low Carbon Oxford pathfinders deliver their vision.
We fully support the charter and are committed to bringing our expertise to the table to create a low carbon, sustainable Oxford. We also look forward to learning from and working with Low Carbon Oxford and the other parties who had signed up to the charter.
