LCMB are delighted to have been awarded a ‘highly commended’ from the 2015 Energy Awards, in the Behavioural Change & Employee Engagement category.
This recognises ‘a Step change at Birmingham Airport’ which has lowered energy use, enhanced energy efficiency and reduced Carbon over a number of years at the Airport. Our combined people engagement and technical energy management approach has come to fruition in 2014/15 where we saved an £269,000 of cost savings and carbon savings of 1,523 tCO2e, compared to 2013/14 (ending March). This has continued into 2015/16 where savings are outperforming budget month on month.
Matt Whitehead LCMB’s head of Carbon and Energy reduction said:
“We are really pleased to be recognised for a number of years of work with Birmingham Airport. The process has delivered significant improvements for the Airport and more importantly, we have made a real difference in lowering operational cost and in reducing their Carbon emissions.
I also would like to thank our partners Birmingham Airport and The Discovery Mill, without whom this award would not have been possible.”
