Wanting to switch from the role of a Software Engineer, which she had held for over 15 years, to a role in engineering leadership, Kalyani undertook and successfully completed a MSc in Information Management & Business Digital Innovation at Henley Business School in 2020.
On conclusion of the Business Digital Innovation program and her MSc, she started as the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) associate at LCMB, working with the University of Reading, Henley Business school, LCMB and Innovate UK. The KTP project focused on improving LCMB’s workplace optimisation platform Thrive adding Artificial Intelligence capability. As part of this partnership, she worked on designing the architecture and the implementation of a Data Analysis and Machine Learning platform for gauging and predicting workplace performance, energy, and Net Zero Carbon along with compliance management tools. Kalyani’s work has led to scalable and performance enhancing real-time systems that can be easily deployed at a customer workplace and enhance user wellbeing, performance, and productivity, whilst reducing the resources required to optimise workplace conditions. The platform delivers workplace performance improvement, energy, cost and carbon reductions.
On successful completion of the KTP, Kalyani joined LCMB in January 2023 as Technical Service Manager, Senior Consultant. She is excited to work with her team to accomplish LCMB’s vision of delivering workplaces that enhance lives and allow organisations to thrive.
The completed KTP project has been awarded a “very good” status by Innovate UK, one notch down from the highest award “outstanding”.
