LCMB green breakfast hears how Oxfordshire County Council will deliver the county’s growth infrastructure
Bev Hindle, Deputy Director Strategy & Infrastructure, at Oxfordshire County Council explained to an audience at LCMB’s June Green Breakfast how Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) are planning ahead to deliver the growth infrastructure that the county will need to deliver its economic ambitions.
OCC are taking a number of innovative approaches to ensure Oxfordshire stays at the forefront of emerging opportunities such as Low Carbon, the internet of things and big data. For example OCC has set up a smart city project group in partnership with Universities and City and District councils to address major challenges like energy consumption congestion, flooding, and the maintenance of utilities. These areas represent major market opportunities estimated at £250bn by 2020.
