Building Performance Insights - July 2017

Welcome to our July edition of Building Performance Insights, our monthly round up to help make your buildings work harder for your organisation and people.

This month we’d like to share what our clients and others are doing to work towards and achieve world class FM (Facilities Management).

We’ve helped our clients with FM Strategy, understanding their best route to buying FM services and engaging better with their own customer base.

Finally, we share some thoughts and ideas on how best to improve value for money and get the most out of both your estate and your people.

If you would like to discuss anything FM, or would like to find out more, please do get in touch.

These last few weeks we’ve been horrified by the fire at Grenfell Tower. As building performance professionals it is all too tempting to share and expand on the painful lessons this disaster is teaching us. But instead, we simply want to convey our heartfelt sorrow and compassion to all those affected at any level by this tragic event.

How Tata Technologies moved into world class headquarters with services to suit

Improved FM services helps Oxford University Hospitals deliver better patient experience - while avoiding additional costs

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) is a world-renowned centre of clinical excellence and one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the UK.

A strategy was developed for more effective and productive procurement and delivery of capital works projects and better defined responsibilities within these processes. Implementing the recommendations of the review helped OUH to avoid over £1m in additional costs annually.

Better information and understanding helps futureproof the game of golf

LCMB have developed an online mapping tool for customers to visualise easily where their facilities are located, what they have to offer and how they could best relate to the local marketplace.

This tool utilises statistical analyses to calculate “most likely behaviour” and shows graphically where and how customers are likely to engage with the facilities.

England Golf are using this tool to great effect and it has helped them to be more customer focussed, resilient and future proof.

And finally....Our world of FM

To find out more about the world of FM and our approach, please visit our blog. We cover everything from managing change, apologising for what we do, to comparing FM to the African wilderness!

This month’s roundup of news:

Summer heatwave costing consumers up to £214 each

Clock ticking for the effects of global warming, it may already be too late

Good FM = increased value, lower risk and more productive people

Your FM operations has a crucial part to play in bridging the gap between the designed performance of your assets and the actual value for money that your assets deliver for the organisation.

We believe your estate’s purpose is to get your business and your people to be more productive. LCMB can help you use the data captured from your BEMS, building analytics, FM and estate functions to ensure you invest where you are most likely to gain an advantage and perform better.

We can audit, benchmark and improve your FM services to help you get increased value, reduced operational risk, better compliance and ultimately result in happier, more productive staff.

To discuss how our FM services can help you enhance your estates operations and ROI
