Higher education’s estate and carbon management plans for Oxford

A presentation by Sue Holmes and Harriet Waters

Sue Holmes is Director of Estates at Oxford Brookes University. Sue was appointed as the Director of Estates and Facilities Management at Oxford Brookes University in September 2013, having previously worked at Leeds Metropolitan University and Sheffield Hallam University. She is recognised as an expert on university space management and issues related to effective use of space and good design in UK HE and has spoken nationally and internationally on this subject.

Harriet Waters is Head of Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oxford managing the team that support the University’s environmental sustainability policy. Harriet is responsible for long-term planning and direction of environmental sustainability at University of Oxford, and oversees as the delivery of the wide range of strategies and services implemented by the Environmental Sustainability team. The teams’ main areas of work include carbon reduction, building more sustainably, transport, environmental legislation compliance, waste management and bio diversity.
